Privacy
The short version: your images and drawings never leave your browser.
Your images and drawings
Every tool works inside your browser. Pictures, sprite sheets, frames and palette files you open are read by the page on your device, and the PNG, ZIP, GIF and palette files you download are made there too. They are never uploaded to Pixel Rumble or anyone else. Apart from loading the site's own files, the pages make no network requests; the one exception is the page-view count described below.
What is stored on your device
Two things are kept in your browser's local storage, on the device you are using: your light or dark theme choice, and the pixel editor's current drawing with its palette choice, so your work survives a reload. When you use “Edit in pixel editor” or “Make a GIF” to send an image to another tool, it is passed through your browser's session storage and removed as soon as the other page opens it. Clear the editor, or clear this site's data in your browser settings, to remove everything.
Cookies, accounts and ads
There are none. There is no sign-up, no advertising and no tracking across other sites.
Page-view counts
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which our host Cloudflare adds to each page, to count page views. It does not use cookies or track you across sites, and it never receives what you type, paste or drop into the tools.
Links to other sites
Pages link to sources such as the NESdev Wiki and the PICO-8 manual, to sister sites, and to two recommended services, CleanTempMail and WebTraceCheck. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you follow a link.
